John Kenneth “Bud” Sanders, 80, of Wooster, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster after a brief illness.
Bud was born April 21, 1941 in Wayne, WV and was the son of the late Early and Lakie (Epling) Sanders. He graduated from Wayne High School and on July 10, 1960 he married the former Phyllis Bing who preceded him in death on Oct. 11, 2016. Bud retired from Frito Lay in Wooster in 2001 after 42 years of service. A former member of the Isaak Walton League, Bud loved hunting, fishing and playing golf. Remembered as a gentle, kind hearted man, Bud truly enjoyed life and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Debora and David Hackett of Wooster, Tammy and Barry Smail of Creston and Ray and Jennifer Sanders of Smithville; grandchildren, Brandon and his wife Melissa Smail, Kelsea Smail, Isabel Sanders and Jered Sanders; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Blanche Sanders and Rob and Ogarita Sanders and sisters, Betty and her husband Sam Blankenship, Fern Meadows and Myrtle Adkins all of West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, sister, Faye Whitehead and brothers, Jim Sanders and Special 4th Class Darrell Sanders, US Army.
Services will be Thursday, Aug. 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Savior, 480 Fry Rd., Wooster with Pastor Brent Durham officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until times of services at 2:00 p.m. at the church..
