Joseph Scott Lemon, 50, of Fredericksburg, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, after an extended illness.
Joe was born on Oct. 10, 1975, in Akron to Rodney and Kathy (Chelf) Lemon and was a 1994 graduate of Waynedale High School. In 1998, he graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.
Throughout his career, Joe was a hardworking and dedicated businessman. He owned and operated TEK Systems Design, worked at Heartland Stairways, and was also co-owner of Cabins Over Salt Creek in Fredericksburg.
A lover of the great outdoors, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, and tending to his bees. He loved watching sports and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was also a great cook. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving is his loving fiancée, Treecie Ice; his three children, Evan and his wife, Faith Lemon, of Cape Coral, Florida, and Emrie Lemon and Owen Lemon, both of Fredericksburg; Treecie’s daughters, Samantha Ice and her fiancé, Jesse Gross, of Wooster, and Sara Ice of Fredericksburg; his parents, Rodney and Kathy Lemon of Fredericksburg; his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Melissa Lemon of Fredericksburg; his sister, Emily Zuercher of Fredericksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 2–4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, where services will follow at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
