Jill Gasser Buckingham

Jill Elaine Buckingham, 66, of Sterling, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Jill was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend whose greatest joy was her family. She loved the simple things in life and found happiness in spending time with the people she loved most. Jill is survived by her husband, Tim Buckingham; her sons, Tyler and his wife Stacey Buckingham and Zach Buckingham; her beloved grandchildren, Blane, Kaid and Memphis Buckingham all of Sterling; her parents, Ralph and Joan Gasser of Rittman; her brothers and sister, Rex and his wife Sandy Gasser, Randy and his wife Sherri Gasser and Jody Maibach along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Jill treasured the time she spent with her grandsons and loved them more than words could express. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, riding her bike, taking trips with the girls, traveling and simply gathering with her family at home, in Sterling. It was those ordinary moments together that meant the most to her. Earlier in her life, Jill worked at Westfield Insurance Company before eventually joining her husband in running their business. She was a member of Sterling United Methodist Church.

Jill’s kindness and love will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone who needed her. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will miss her dearly.

In honoring Jill, a private family service will be held on Saturday at Sterling United Methodist Church with interment following at Sterling Crown Hill Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sterling United Methodist Church, 13584 Kauffman Ave., Sterling, OH 44276.
