Jemima D. Shetler

Jemima D. (Byler) Shetler, 86 of 4196 Harrison Rd. Fredericksburg, Ohio 44627 passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

She was born on June 25, 1940, in Wayne County to the late John J.M. and Sarah (Byler) Byler, and married Dan M. Shetler on April 2, 1964. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2022. She was a member of the old order Amish.

She is survived by 11 children, John (Esther) Shetler of Apple Creek, Amanda (Reuben) Miller of Warsaw, Sara (Roy deceased) Nisley of Apple Creek, Ella (Joe) Hostetler of Wooster, Mose (Katie) Shetler of Brinkhaven, Fannie (Sam) Hostetler of Fredericksburg, Jemima (Eli) Miller of Apple Creek, Lizzie Ann (Daniel) Hostetler of the home, Lydia Ann (William) Hostetler of Apple Creek, Emma (Melvin) Hostetler of Apple Creek and Barbara (Reuben) Miller of Fredericksburg; 88 grandchildren; 182 great-grandchildren; brother, William Byler of Killbuck; and sister, Anna Yoder of Deer Lodge, TN.

Jemima was preceded in death by her husband, Dan M. Shetler, son-in-law Roy, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, her parents, brother, Mahlon Byler, sisters, Martha Troyer and Emily Byler, brothers-in-law, Jacob Troyer and Eli Yoder, and sisters-in-law, Lizzie Byler, Edna Byler and Ella Byler.

Services will be Saturday, November 7th at 9:00 a.m. at the residence with Bishop Leroy Hershberger officiating. Burial will be at Graber Rd. Cemetery. Friends may call at the residence Thursday after 2:00 p.m. and Friday. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
