Janet (Galbach) Moritz went peacefully to her heavenly home on August 9, 2021 at age 68 after a long battle with dementia. She was born on May 19, 1953 in McKeesport, PA.
She spent most of her career as a legal assistant and loved the work immensely. She was a very active member of the National Association of Legal Secretaries (NALS). She began serving on the local board, continuing through and ending her tenure as the State President. As an active lifelong member of St. Emilian Byzantine Catholic Church, her church “family” meant the world to her. She began a charitable cause called the Giving Tree over 30 years ago and together with the congregation, has helped hundreds of struggling families have a bountiful Christmas each year. She was very passionate about helping those in need and dedicated herself to the cause.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Galbach, in laws, William and Marguerite Moritz and brother-in-law, George Horten.
She was a caring and devoted wife of 46 years to Tim Moritz and loving mother to her two children, Brian (Melissa) Moritz and Jenni (Aj) Szafranski. Janet adored her grandchildren; Marah, Michael, Alex, Cecelia, Cody, Sarah and Micaela and great-grandchildren; Roman and Rory. As the youngest of four, siblings Chuck (Jeanette) Galbach, Rege (Rose) Galbach and Marge (George) Horten will dearly miss their little sister.
