James “Jim” Harold Vacha, 81, gained his heavenly wings on Tuesday, September 6 th at the Avenue in Wooster after an extended illness. Jim was born April 13, 1941, in Lodi, Ohio, the son of John A, and Helen (Tucker) Vacha, and married Laurie Speelman on February 27, 1981. She proceeded him in death in 2011. Jim attended high school in Lodi, Ohio and served his country in the United States Army 1963-1966. Throughout his life, Jim pursued many careers and interests, including aviation, roller skating, and managing the Shreve Feed Mill and Knight’s Inn. In later years he enjoyed providing transportation for the Amish community. Jim loved and enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren, and great grands grow and experience life. He also enjoyed his beloved pups. Surviving are sons James (Sonia) Vacha of Apple Creek, John (Jennene) Vacha of Brooksville, Florida, Joseph (Greta) Vacha of Mogadore, Jerald (Jean) of Stone Creek, and daughter Jennafer (Dustin) Flinner of Shreve. 11 grandchildren, and 15 great- grandchildren. Jim is proceeded in death by his parents John Alonis and Helen Reeves (Tucker) Vacha, and father and mother-in-law, Laddie Lloyd and Grace Arlene (Heron) Speelman. Friends may call Friday, September 9, from 6 to 7 pm. Services will be officiated by Rev. Julia Wertz beginning at 7 pm at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Graveside services will take place Saturday, September 10, at 9 am at Fredericksburg West Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Hospice of Wayne County, Ohio or the Wayne County Humane Society.
