Jacob P. Hershberger

Jacob P. Hershberger, 49, of Shreve, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2022 as a result of a logging accident in Knox County.

Jacob was born in Millersburg on Aug. 16, 1972 to Peter A. and Caroline (Zook) Hershberger who are now of Heuvelton, NY. On Dec. 2, 1993 he married Maryann Slabaugh who survives. He was self employed in the logging industry and had made his home in Shreve since 2003. Jacob was a member of Faith Family Church in Canton where he served as an usher and was an outdoorsman who loved fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Maryann; children, Rosey (Josh) Halvorsen of Wooster, Jennifer Hershberger of Massillon and William Hershberger of Shreve; daughter-in-law, Leah Hershberger of Coshocton; his parents and brothers and sisters, Mattie, Eli, Andrew, Emma, Susie, Jonas, Elizabeth, Freddie, Henry, Saloma, Fannie, Malinda and Barbara.   He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin Hershberger in 2019.

Services will be Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Mennonite Christian Assembly in Fredericksburg with burial following in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Church. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
