Jacob B. Eicher

Jacob B. Eicher, 80, of 8319 S. Apple Creek Rd., Fredericksburg, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

He was born on April 9, 1942 in Adams County, IN to the late Ben and Mary (Schwartz) Eicher and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. He was united in marriage to Mary M. Miller on Oct. 18, 1962 and they lived in holy matrimony for 60 years.

Surviving is his wife, Mary; his children, Lester (Naomi) Eicher of Loudonville, Esther (Ervin) Hostetler of Fredericksburg, Robert (Esther) Eicher of Loudonville, Susan (Adonia) Hostetler of the home, Barbara (Johnny deceased) Miller of Fredericksburg, Roman (Lydia) Eicher of Apple Creek, Ruth (Aden) Raber of New Concord, Miriam (Mervin) Hershberger of Apple Creek, John Eicher of Wooster and David (Heather) Eicher of Perrysville; 76 grandchildren, 108 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Susie) Eicher of Dundee, Soloman Eicher of Dundee and Levi Eicher of Strasburg; sisters, Barbara (Menno deceased) Schwartz of Monroe, IN, Flossie (Roman deceased) Hilty of Berne, IN and Rachel (Ed Hershberger of Trail; half-brother, Norman Eicher of Walhonding; brother-in-law, Sam Hilty of Berne, IN and sisters-in-law, Margaret Eicher of Marysville, OH and Sylvia Eicher of Geneva, IN.

He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin, son-in-law, Johnny Miller, granddaughters, Nora Eicher and Joanna Raber, brothers, Benjamin (Margaret) Eicher, Clarence (Salome deceased) Eicher and Philip Eicher; sisters, Mary Jane (Sam) Hilty, infant Elizabeth Eicher, Ruth Eicher and Nancy Eicher; brothers-in-law, Menno (Barbara) Schwartz and Roman (Flossie) Hilty.

Services will be Sunday, March 19th at 9:00 a.m. at the Wooster Buildings Shop, 8384 S. Apple Creek Rd., Fredericksburg with Bishop Atlee E. Hostetler officiating.  Burial will be in Troyer Cemetery, Salt Creek Township.  Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Friday and anytime of Saturday at the Eicher residence.  Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.  A special thank-you to Ohio’s LifeCare Hospice for all their help and support
