Harry Joseph Newcombe, 85, of Creston, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at Wooster Community Hospital from health complications.
Harry was born in Toledo on June 28, 1939 to Rebert and Norma Grace (Rose) Newcombe and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He married Vonda Tharp on June 15, 1971 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 12, 1999. Harry later married Mary Lange Mamay on May 15, 2009 and she survives. Harry retired from Teknor Color in Lodi and was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church and the Prime Timers. Harry enjoyed time with his family and he enjoyed working.
Surviving in his wife, Mary; 3 children, Brian and Jean Newcombe of West Salem, Harry Ray Newcombe of Mansfield and Angel Bradley of Mansfield; step-daughter, Noel and Jeff Kropf of Seattle, WA; 4 grandchildren, Katie and Jake Weidemann, Jake Newcombe, Reva and Tyler Buzzard and Helen Bradley; 3 step-grandchildren, Sydney, Zoe and James Kropf; great-grandson, Lucas Johnston and a brother, Ralph and Gloria Newcombe of Prospect.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vonda, sister, Elizabeth Newcombe and brother, Charles Newcombe.
Services will be Friday, Oct. 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston with Pastor Aaron Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the church. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
