Harry Lewis Hinkel, Sr.

Harry Lewis Hinkel, Sr. 86, of Columbia Station, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021 at Wadsworth Pointe after a brief illness.

Harry was born on May 9, 1935 in Shamokin, PA to the late Harry Herman and Helen Maude (Crone) Hinkel and was a graduate of Brunswick High School.  Harry had been a truck driver, having driven for various trucking companies, and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  He was a faithful member of the North Eaton Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Grafton where he served as a Deacon and taught the Senior Sunday School Class and he was a faithful supporter of the Moody Bible Institute and Dr. David Jeremiah.  Harry had enjoyed traveling, camping and working on motors.

Surviving are his children from his first marriage to Janet, Deborah Neeley of Rittman, Lewis (Joy) Hinkel of Wooster and Tim Hinkel of Rittman; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Daniel, James, Charles and David Austin and his special friend, Jeanne Kekic.

Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Jean (Austin) Hinkel.
