Harold A. Nerkins

Harold A. Nerkins, 84, of Ben Wheeler, Texas passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024 after a battle with cancer.

Harold was born on July 31, 1940 in Joliet, IL to Frank J. and Ivy (Anderson) Nerkins and had share the past 33 years with Linda (McGlone) Nerkins who surives.  He had been a truck driver for many years and had also been a fireman in California for 13 years.  He and Linda had made their home in Yucca Valley, California having move to Texas, where had had want to live, six years ago.   Harold had been a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and was an avid woodworker.

In addition to Linda; he is survived by sons, Glen Nerkins and Gary Nerkins; step-children, Cretia Bowman and Jamie Bowman and 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Leonard Nerkins and a sister Beatrice Johnson

Graveside service will be Monday, October 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.  at Canaan Cemetery in Creston.
