Greta V. Stahl

Greta V. Stahl, 81, of Creston, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a period of declining health.

Greta was born Aug. 27, 1937 in Gilmer Co., WV and was the daughter Albert “Tommy” and Artie (Vannoy) Reed.  She was a member of the Norwayne High School Class of 1955 and on Dec. 24, 1954 married Kenneth Wayne Stahl.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2016.  She had worked for many years at the McIntire Basket Factory and later at the Creston Moose Lodge until retiring.  Greta was a member of the Women of Moose Lodge in Creston and attended Creston-Canaan United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed playing cards, working Sudoku Puzzles and being with family and friends.  She will be remembered for always helping and caring for others.

Surviving are her children, LaDonna (Carl) Pittman of Beallsville, Terry Stahl of Creston, Kim (Mark) Suppes of Creston, Rich (Becky) Stahl of Rittman, Tommer (Lisa) Stahl of Creston and Taya (Aaron) Huth of Creston; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Robert) Ramos and a brother, Benny (Bonita) Reed both of Arlington, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Mary Cunningham, Deloras Schaad and Martha Sherwood and brothers, James Reed and Albert “Junior” Reed.

Services will be Wednesday, July 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Lori Burdette-Steele and John Murray officiating.  Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
