Granville Cottrill, 85, of Rittman, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Akron City Hospital.
Granville was born in Sutton, WV on July 22, 1936 to the late Aristotle Nicholas and Martha Louise (Lambert) Cottrill and married Glenda Davis on April 7, 1957. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2009. He served in the Army National Guard having been called to active duty from 1960 – 1961. Granville retired from Wadsworth Brick and Tile and had made his home in the Rittman area for over 50 years. He was a member of South Main St. Church of God in Rittman, the Wadsworth Eagles and the Burger King Boys in Rittman. He was proud to be a Concealed Carrier and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. His passion was watching Professional Wrestling and he loved the WWE and AEW.
Surviving are his children, Gary (Marci) Cottrill of Doylestown, Shonnie (Ian Myers) Cottrill of Cuyahoga Falls and Tonya (Mark) Garner of Rittman; grandchildren, Christi (Kyle) Blythin, Michael Cottrill, Aaron (Randi) Crayden, Tiffany Crayden and Kyle (Gabbie) Cottrill; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Desi Blythin and Preston and Blaine Cottrill; a brother, Matthew (Jessie) Cottrill of Virginia and his best companion, his dog, Misty.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and 15 brothers and sisters.
Services will be Wednesday, April 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the South Main St. Church of God in Rittman with Pastor Jeff Ball officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
