Gloria Jean (Cleckner) Morris

Gloria Jean Morris, 82, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Avenue of Wooster after a brief period of declining health.

Jean was born on May 15, 1940 in Wadsworth to the late Vernon W. and Nellie J. (Wickwire) Cleckner and married William E. Morris on Feb. 13, 1958.  Bill preceded her in death on April 11, 2022.  She had been a member of the Norwayne High School Class of 1958 and had retired from Wooster Community Hospital after 34 years of service.  Jean was a member of the West Hill Baptist Church and the Caleb’s Kin and had been an avid quilter.  She loved family gatherings and she is now enjoying a great reunion in Heaven.

Surviving are her daughter, Beth Geiser of Wooster; daughter-in-law, Dawn Morris of Cabot, AR; granddaughters, Angie (Bob) Smith of Cabot, AR, Megan (Dwayne) Griffith of Ward, AR and Kristen (Justin Carraway) Geiser of Wooster; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael (Honey) Cleckner of Flemington, NJ and Ken (Anna) Cleckner of Melbourne, FL and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son, William “Bill” Morris Jr., an infant son, Scott Alan Morris; her parents and a brother, Donald Cleckner.

Services will be Saturday, March 18th at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Eric Fairhurst officiating.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
