Gloria Ann (Beck) Sheppard

Gloria Ann (Beck) Sheppard, known to many as 'The Neighborhood Watch Lady' is now watching over from above. She celebrated her 95th birthday in her home with her family, the evening just prior to her passing.

Gloria was born in Wadsworth, to Earl and Myrtle (Rickert) Beck on August 11, 1927 and graduated from Seville School Class in 1945. She was a lifelong resident of Seville. Gloria attended Seville United Methodist Church and participated during many church events. She was a member of TOPS, attending weekly meetings with her best friend Joyce.

Gloria was the typical Farmer's Wife, driving the tractor during hay baling season, being the gopher to pick up parts and providing a good meal at the end of the day. She enjoyed a competitive card game of Rummy around her dining room table and quite often pulling off a win by holding a handful of aces and making her quirky remarks. She enjoyed watching The Cavs and The Indians. When not watching her favorite teams, she enjoyed watching the birds, the squirrels and neighborhood flock of ducks.

She married Claude P. Sheppard, Jr. on February 20, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 27, 2015.

She leaves behind her beloved family whom she adored: Jim (Kathy) Sheppard, Sheila Sheppard (Jimmy Gardner, deceased), Susan (Steve) Arters and Sandra (Chris) Dearth; grandchildren, Julie (Josh) Sockrider, Jeff Sustersic (Erin deceased) Tyler (Kristen) Arters, Shelby Dearth and Tate Arters; she was known as 'GG' to her five great-grandchildren and is survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, brothers, Robert and Leon Beck and granddaughter, Erin.

Friends may call Thursday, August 18th, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Seville United Methodist Church, 74 West Main St., Seville. Funeral services will be Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor Don Trigg and The Reverend Don Kuntz officiating. Graveside service will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery.
