Glendon D. “Glen” Kessinger, 86, of Big Prairie, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 26 2021 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster after a period of declining health.
He was born in Flint Springs, KY on June 1, 1935 to the late Dutch and Edna (Kessinger) Kessinger. He served in the U S. Air Force from 1955 – 1958 and on July 1, 1960 he married the former Pansy Pendley who preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1996. On Sept. 14, 2000 he married the former Rose Marie Reber Massie and she survives. Glen retired from Astro Metallurgical in Wooster after 30 years of service and then worked caring for the greens at the Wooster Country Club for 18 years. He was a member of the Holmesville American Legion and God's Word Bible Church in Big Prairie.
Surviving are his wife, Rose Marie; children, Michael (Debra) Kessinger of Millersburg, Diana (Lloyd) Dawson of Killbuck and Donda Massaro of Apple Creek; step-children, Jon Massie and Laura Massie both of Wooster; 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Joyce (Phil) Chapman of Wooster; two brothers, Vernal (Martha) Kessinger of Bloomington, IL and Larel (Dianne) Kessinger of Flint Springs, KY and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy; a son, Ronnie Kessinger; his parents, Edna and Curtis Flener and Dutch and Marge Kessinger, and a brother, Delbert Kessinger.
Service will be Wednesday, Dec. 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Rob Martin officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, Dec. 28th from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg and one hour prior to services on Wednesday in Creston.
