Gerald E. “Jerry” Lowe, 69, of Creston, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024 from an apparent heart attack.
Jerry was born on April 19, 1955 in Wooster to Homer and Alma Nadine (Haun) Lowe and was a 1973 graduate of Orrville High School and the Wayne County Schools Career Center. On Aug. 14, 1994 he married Carol J. McFadden and they were blessed with 30 wonderful years together. Jerry retired from Morton Salt after 43 years of service and attended Canaan Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed sailing on Charles Mills Lake, riding his motorcycle and gardening. He loved his Thursday night friends gathering and he took pleasure in cooking for them, joking with them, playing cards and watching sporting events. Jerry loved his wife Carol, his children and grandchildren and his dog, Mellow.
Surviving is his wife, Carol; son, Jeremy Lowe of Wadsworth; his daughter, Brittany Lowe of Wooster; his three grandchildren, Hunter Hale and Sam Kasprik, Caeden Lowe and Thomas Lowe; sisters and brother, Jennifer and Howard Martin of Kansas City, KS, Dennis Lowe of Coshocton, Lynda Berman of Athens and Myra and Joe Leeper of Smithville; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Paul and Vickie McFadden of Maiden, NC and Patty McFadden of Smithville and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Lowe, sister-in-law, Becky Lowe and brothers-in-law, Joe Berman and Wendell McFadden.
Services will be Saturday, Nov 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Paradise Brethren Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Memorial contributions may be made to Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 167, Creston, OH 44217 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
