Gerald John "Jerry" Schorle

Gerald “Jerry” John Schorle, 91, of Seville, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022 at Accord Care Community with family at his side.

Jerry was born on Sept. 28, 1931 in Sterling to John and Mary (Calame) Schorle and married Betty Jeanne Buckingham on Sept. 28, 1955. He retired from Morton Salt in Rittman after 43 years of service and was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Wadsworth where he served on the church’s board. Jerry loved mowing the grass, doing yard work and gardening. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jerry will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, loving daughters, and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Betty of 67 years, daughters and sons-in-law, JoEtta and Fred Sheppard of Sterling, Mary and Robin Prinkey of Burbank and Denee Schorle of Seville; grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Katy Sheppard, Tonya and Don Hartwell, Lori Prinkey and Joshua Hartman; great-grandchildren, Spencer, Logan, Bryana, Katie, Nathan, Ayden, Evelyn and Lukas; brother and sister-in-law, Kenny and Sharon Schorle of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Gay Winebarger of North Carolina, Carolyn Schorle of Florida,  Linda Schorle of Ohio and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Janet Maibach, Gene Schorle, Joanne Cohen, Bernard “Pete” Schorle, Ruth Slater, Robert Schorle and Tommy Schorle.

Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Larrison officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
