George Edward Lelekacs

George E. Lelekacs, Jr., age 84, of Medina passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at Medina Meadows after a period of declining health.

George was born April 12, 1935 in Uniontown, PA to the late George and Mary (Kostrub) Lelekacs.  After his mother’s sudden passing at 6 months old, his father married the late Elizabeth (Lako) Lelekacs who raised and loved him as her own.  He married the former Shirley Richardson on April 27, 1957 in Cleveland and they were together 62 years until his passing.  George retired from Republic Steel/LTV Steel after 41 years of service and enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley; daughters, Debra (Melvin) Boone of Canton and Nancy (James) Ottenweller of Medina; grandchildren, Suzanne (Troy) Eagle, Erin Miller, Alexander Saletrik, Clayton Miller and great-granddaughter, Madison Eagle.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven and sisters, Mary, Elizabeth and Ida, and nephews Steven Lelekacs, Jr. and James (Betty) Lelekacs.

Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.at the funeral home.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com.
