Gary A. Arndt

Gary A. Arndt, 66, of Sterling passed away on his birthday, Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Gary was born on Jan. 12, 1957 in Cleveland to the late John and June (Mandley) Arndt and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1976.  He married Dawn Marie Spohn on Oct. 3, 1987 and they shared 35 years together.  He had been a truck driver of Yellow Freight for over 20 years and had enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.  Gary loved grilling on the grill and spending time with family.

Surviving is his wife, Dawn; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Jr. and Valarie Arndt and Timothy and Ashley Arndt; daughter, Melissa and Victoria; grandsons, Brad and Joseph Curran; sisters, Darlene and Jim Cunningham and Judy and Ray Skarupa; brother, Jim (the late Donna) Arndt and sisters-in-law, Aloma (the late Robert) Arndt, Connie (the late John) Arndt, Maureen (the late Howard) Arndt, and Mary (the late Charles) Arndt and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert, John, Howard, Charles and Rodney.

There will be a celebration of Gary’s life will be Saturday, Jan. 28th from 1-4 p.m. at the Norwayne Community Center, 161 S. Main St., Creston, OH .  Contributions may be made to the family to assist with Gary’s final expense.
