Obituary:

Franklin D. “Frank” Lemon, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at Majora Lane Care Center in Millersburg after a period of declining health.

Frank was born March 24, 1934 in Holmesville to the late Thomas Bird and Grace (Bellman) Lemon and was a 1953 graduate of Fredericksburg High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 – 1957 and retired from Royal Ridge Poultry Farms having previously worked at Landmark Foods and Wooster Egg Co-op. In retirement he drove cars for Village Motors in Millersburg. Frank was a lifetime member of Holmesville American Legion Post 551 and enjoyed mushroom hunting, mowing lawns and being outdoors. He is remembered for always tinkering and being busy with his hands and for his love of ice cream and sweets.

Surviving are his daughters, Polly (Bob) Yoder of Shreve, Laura Lemon and Janis Lemon both of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Caryn (Chad) Betson, Michael (Renee’) Lemon and Anthony Yoder; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Mason Lemon and Cayden and Cylee Betson; a sister, Mary (Jim) Shriver, brothers, Marvin “Bud” (Marie) Lemon and Martin (DeeAnn) Lemon and a sister-in-law, Harriet Lemon all of Holmesville and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen and brothers, Welker Dale, Jack, Thomas Jr. (Bonnie) and Sam (Jane) Lemon.

Services will be Wednesday, Feb. 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Rev. Jack McClelland officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
