Francis Howard Carney

Francis Howard Carney, 91, of Wadsworth formerly of Seville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 at the Avenue at Wooster after a period of declining health.

Francis was born Sept. 20, 1928 in Kulpmont, PA to the late Bloyd and Ella (Berisford) Carney and married Dorothy Bishop of June 14, 1946 and she survives.   He was a graduate of Moundsville High School and retired after thirty years from Airco.  He later worked and retired from Tru Fit Products in Medina.   Francis had made his home in Seville for 30 years and enjoyed collecting coins, watching sports and traveling.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy of 73 years; sons, Michael of Houston, TX and Brian and his wife Dawn of Creston; grandson, Cory Carney; step-grandchildren, Waylon “Gil” Schweitzer, Shawne Cahill and William Cahill and a brother, Carl Carney of Miamisburg, OH.  A brother, Merritt preceded him in death.

Services will be Sunday, Dec. 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Josh Chaffin officiating.  Friends will be received following the services from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m.  Francis will be buried Tuesday at Greenview Cemetery in Moundsville, WV.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
