Frances L. "Fran" Hanners

Frances L. Stoll Huffman Hanners, 93, of Creston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 at the home of her daughters in Macedonia after a period of declining health. Fran was born on July 31, 1929 in Wadsworth to the late Leon and Ducie (Cuschleg) Stoll and attended Wadsworth High School and graduated from the Akron Beauty School. On June 14, 1952 she married David W. Huffman who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1972. Later she married Jess “Bill” Hanners on July 12, 1980 who preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2000. Fran retired from Westfield Companies and later worked at Pike Station Inn in Creston. She had been a volunteer at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital for 25 years and had also been a Red Cross Volunteer in Medina. Fran was an avid reader who enjoyed working jigsaw and crossword puzzles and traveling. She is most remembered for her giving heart and her loving spirit. Surviving are her daughters, Diana Kay Huffman and Camilla Jean “Kim” Lovejoy Croyle; her step-daughter who was just like a daughter, Dara Lee Hanners; grandsons, Phillip David Nasch and Christopher Alan Nasch; a sister-in-law, Suellen Lichty, several nieces and nephews and her beloved pet, Cute Cat also known as “CC” Fran was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Rae Huffman, brothers, Leon Clyde Stoll, Jack Stoll and Jerold Lichty and a sister, Ellen Patterson. Services will be Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina.
