Floyd I. Bertschy

Floyd I. Bertschy, 81, of Creston, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Medina General Hospital.

Floyd was born on Jan. 1, 1942 in Woodsfield to Lester and Lula (Ingold) Bertschy and had made his home near Canaan most of his life.  Floyd loved farming.  He had farmed the family farm and for the past several years had worked with his nephew, Steve Hoisington helping him farm and repairing equipment.  He had also worked for Crestview Electric and W.G. Dairy.   Over the years, he enjoyed spending time at the Ohio River House with family and friends.

Surviving is his daughter, Tina (Jon) Allen of Creston; granddaughter, Hannah Allen; sisters and brother, Arlene Fetzer of Wooster, Inez (Gary) Bowman of Creston, Larry Bertschy of Creston and Lucy (Larry) Herman of Placida, FL; brother-in-law, Harley Hoisington of Creston and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Todd and his sister, Shirley Hoisington.

At Floyd’s request, there will be no calling hours.  A private family service will be held at Canaan Cemetery.  Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
