Faye Ellen Vacha, 84, of Kidron, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, at West View Healthy Living in Wooster.

Faye was born in Lodi on Aug. 5, 1941, to Walter F. and Opal J. (Curry) Rebman and graduated from Westfield High School in 1959. She graduated from Ohio University with her degree in Education and received her Master’s Degree in Gifted Instruction from Ashland University. Faye retired from Dalton Local Schools in 2003. A devoted teacher of 4th and 5th grades, also teaching junior high, coached volleyball, was the Middle School Academic Challenge Advisor, and was the recipient of a Martha Holden Jennings grant that further enriched her students reading and learning experience.

Faye attended Grace Church in Wooster. After retiring from teaching, she filled many days volunteering and serving her community. She volunteered at Mennonite Central Committee in Kidron, the American Red Cross Bloodmobile, Wayne County Library in the Genealogy Dept. and was an election poll worker. She also enjoyed local interests like being a member of the Ohio Button Club and the Wayne County Herb Society. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who blessed and nurtured each grandchild with special love. 

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, James Scott and Sonia Vacha of Apple Creek, John Franklin and Jennene Vacha of Brooksville, FL, Joseph Eugene and Greta Vacha of Mogadore and Jerald Jan and Jean Vacha of New Philadelphia; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Also surviving are her brother, Richard “Dick” Rebman of Moreland; sister and brother-in-law, Faith “Elaine” and Gary Emerson of Medina; a sister-in-law, Nancy Rebman of Ashland and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Eugene Rebman.

Services will be Friday, June 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastors Nick Cleveland and Carlin Tiano officiating. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services on Friday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Church Building Fund, 4599 Burbank Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
