Faye Rivera

Faye Rivera, 61, of Shelby and formerly of Rittman, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster after a courageous fight with small cell lung cancer.

Faye was born in Lodi on Oct. 20, 1964, to Ernest and Flora (Branham) Holbrook and married Bruce Rivera on Dec. 19, 1992. She had worked at Burger King in Rittman and at Mansfield Engineered Components. She had lived in Rittman prior to moving to Shelby over three years ago. Faye loved spending time at the beach, reading and baking but her grandkids were always number one in her life.

Surviving is her husband, Bruce; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Darren Glavic of Covington, KY; son, Chad Brandt of Rittman; grandson Bronson and his wife, Julien Stricklett; great-grandson, Cody William Stricklett; sisters and brothers-in-law, Stacy and Jody Swank of Burbank and Annie and Donald Rollins of Westfield Center; brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Angel Holbrook of West Salem and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Martha Leidal and infant Vernie Holbrook and brothers, Ernest Jr., Johnny and Virgil Holbrook.

Services will be Saturday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. James McComas officiating. Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
