Evelyn Jean “Jeannie” Miller, 76, of Chippewa Lake passed away early on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024.
She was born on Dec. 24, 1947 in Huey, PA to Eugene Delane and Loretta May (Bobbert) Reitz and was a sister to Eugene Reitz, the late Verda Delp, Donna Carbaugh and Terry Reitz. She never liked her birth name so she always went by her middle name, “Jeannie”. She was known by many by other names as well. Those that included Ma, Braum, Mom, Little Grandma, Millie, but the family favorite was “Stains”. No matter what she ate, food would end up dropping on her shirt, the floor or furniture, leaving a stain behind. She was Mom to her three children, Annette Dudas and grandchildren, Connor and Cloie; Dennis Miller and grandchildren, Fionna, Tabetha, Eithan and Aiden and Chris Miller and granddaughter, Amanda and her son who was Jeannie’s great-grandson, Tommy, sometimes called Budha or Mockie. Jeannie loved her family immensely and enjoyed being around them. She enjoyed baking, reading, and thrift shopping. Jeannie was a strong woman who was a fighter, right up until the end. The last few years of her life, she fought the hardest. From the terrible accident involving her oxygen tank on July 4, 2023 to the devastating news of having Stage 4 Breast Cancer in June of 2024 which caused her quick decline. Family loves and misses her already, and wishes she were still here to wave good-bye at the door. Jesus suffered more than any of us ever will, and we hold tight to the belief that He walked her to God and she is now smiling.
