Evelyn Doris Brewer, 83, of Creston, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 5, 2017 at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights.
Doris was born April 27, 1934 in Emma, Floyd Co., KY to the late Johnnie Lee and Minnie (Davis) Hall and married Lonnie Owen Brewer on April 28, 1950. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 2008. Doris retired in 1997 from Solon High School where she had been the head custodian and was a State honorary life member of the Ohio Congress of PTA since 1988. She had made her home in Solon and in Oak Hill prior to moving to Creston after her retirement and enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, crocheting and playing the piano. She loved kids and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Henry Owen (Margie) Brewer of Pittsburgh, Jane Ann Pearson of Creston and John Wesley (Diane)Brewer of Creston; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Thelma Carpenter of Ashtabula and Lavada Browning of Eaton Rapids, MI and a brother, Kelly Hall of Mountain Home, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Russell, Luther, James (Joe), Elva, Aaron Hall and sisters, Fannie Mae Garret, Trennie Shepherd and Pearlie Tackett.
Friends may call Sunday, May 7th from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St, Creston where services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery at a later date.
