Ernest Jarrett Dean

Ernest Jarrett Dean, 68, of North Wilkesboro, NC and formerly of Rittman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 after a period of declining health.

He was born on July 13, 1955 in Fort Gay, WV to Bascom and Greta (Boyce) Dean and attended West Holmes High School.  Ernie had worked at Plasti-Kote in Medina for over 20 years.  He loved to cook, laugh and spend time with family and he was loved very much by all.

Surviving is his daughter, Amanda (Steven) Artimowich of Canada; grandsons, Michael and Miles Metner of Canada; brothers and sister, Walter “Butch” (Susan) Dean of Rittman , Brenda Metheney of Wooster, Jay (Connie) Dean of Sterling and Carl Dean of Rittman and nieces and nephews including his niece Sheila who moved Ernie to be with her in North Wilkesboro and looked after him and cared for him in his final days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dianna Furman and Nona Fay Dean.

A family celebration will be held with burial in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery on Saturday, April 13th at 2:00 p.m.
