Erica Suzann (Miner) Springer

Erica Suzann Springer, 45, of West Salem, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 while at home from an unknown heart condition.

Erica was born on March 24, 1977 in Wooster and was the daughter of David and Jeannie (Spade) Miner and married the love of her life, Michael Allen Springer on May 22, 2004.  She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1995 and attended North Central State and Ohio University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.  She earned her Master’s Degree from Walden University and for over 20 years had worked at Wooster Community Hospital.   As an Emergency Room Nurse she made a difference in the many lives she touched and for the past year she had served as the Executive Director of the Wayne County Fire and Rescue Association Regional Training Facility.  Erica had been involved in 4-H having shown steers at the Wayne County Fair and had been a Wrestling Statistician and a Junior Trainer for the football team while in high school.  She was an EMT for Town & Country Fire and Rescue, had been a Dispatcher for the Wayne County Justice Center and was a member of the Emergency Nurses Association.  Erica loved attending her daughter Cortney’s volleyball games and enjoyed watching her coach, she enjoyed attending her son, Braydan’s music concerts and watching him perform in plays and musicals and she cherished being “Mimi” to her much loved granddaughter, Charleigh.  Her happy place was always at the beach and she will be forever loved by all her many friends and family.

Surviving are her husband, Mike; her daughter, Cortney Howman and her fiancé, Matthew Herman; her son, Braydan Springer; granddaughter, Charleigh Howman; her mother, Jeannie Tyler of Wooster; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Ken Hiner and their children, Cassandra and David of West Salem; her in-laws, Jerry and Martha Springer of Seville and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Tom Seitz and their children, Tommy and Katie of Sharpsburg, GA,

Erica was preceded in death by her father, David Miner in 2000 and her grandparents, Wilbur and Cotta Spade and Bob and Erie Miner.

Services will be Saturday, April 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Wooster Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Joel Yates officiating.  Friends may call on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  Remembrance  may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made in Erica’s memory to the Wayne County Fire and Rescue Training Facility, 2725 Millborne Rd., Apple Creek, OH 44606.
