Emma M. Hochstetler

Emma M. Hochstetler, 96, of 6490 Township Road 350, Millersburg died Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the home of David and Clara Miller after a period of declining health.

She was born Dec. 28, 1923 near Charm to the late Mose J.S. and Katie (Troyer) Yoder and married Andrew C. Yoder on Nov. 23, 1946.  He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1985.  She later married John J. Hochstetler on March 15, 1987 and he preceded her in death nine months later on Dec. 13, 1987.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish.

Surviving are her children, Mose Yoder of Holmesville, Mary (Joe) Wengerd of Elkhart, IN, Katy (Andrew Jr.) Miller of Holmesville, Wayne (Ada) Yoder of Dalton, Esther (Fred) Miller of the home and Leroy Yoder of Pikeville, TN; step-children, Roy Hochstetler of Sugarcreek , Albert (Lydia) Hochstetler of Sugarcreek, John Hochstetler Jr., of Dundee and Joe (Janice) Hochstetler of Millersburg; step son-in-law, Melvin Miller of Holmesville and a step daughter-in-law, Kathy Hochstetler of Dundee; 26 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe (Kathryn) Yoder of Walnut Creek and a sister-in-law, Ella Yoder of Baltic.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, a daughter-in-law, Betty Yoder; a step-daughter Katie Miller, a step-son Willis Hochstetler; a great-granddaughter, a great great-granddaughter, brothers, Phineas Yoder and Abe Yoder and sisters, Mattie Wengerd, Lizzie Yoder and Mary Yoder.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, graveside services for the family  will be held at the Raber Cemetery, Hardy Township, Holmes County.  There will be no calling hours and Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Millersburg West Church, 6496 TR 350, Millersburg, OH 44654 or to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to the Millersburg West Church, LifeCare Hospice and to David and Clara Miller for the wonderful care given to their mother and grandmother.
