Emerson Everett Bennett

Emerson Everett Bennett, 82, of Langsville, OH passed away, Friday, July 13, 2018 in his home with his family by his side.

He was born April 11, 1936 in a log cabin in a coal camp in Newburgh, WV to the late James and Ethel F. (Ship) Bennett and graduated from Arthurdale High School in Reedsville, WV having also attended Newburg High School and Tunnelton High School. Emerson served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 – 1959 having been stationed in Altus OK where he was a crash rescue fireman. He married the former Loretta M. Barger who preceded him in death on July 27, 2007 and was a Union Iron Worker with Local #17 in Cleveland having retired after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Al Sirat Grotto and was a 32 degree Freemason. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching Westerns, collecting different bourbons and taking care of his farm and cattle. Surviving are his children, Robin (Doug) King; Ronald Bennett, Rod (Carolina Gandini) Bennett and Ross Bennett; grandchildren, Erin King Pittman, Collin King, Isabella Bennett-Gandini and Maria Bennett-Gandini; great-grandchildren, Sidney, Andrea and Wesley Pittman; sister, Josephine F. Bohon and Brother Paul A. Bennett. He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers and sisters, Hubert Bennett, Thelma Minor, Ada Savino, Madeline Bennett, Janis Geho, James Bennett, Donald Bennett and Harold Bennett.

Friends will be received Saturday, July 28th from 2-5 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston, OH. Burial will be at a later date at Shays Chapel in Preston Co., WV. Memorial contributions may be made to the Creston-Canaan United Methodist Youth Mission Fund, PO Box 1111, Creston, OH 44217.
