Emanuel J. Hershberger

Deacon Emanuel J. Hershberger, 93, of 7578 Township Road 570, Holmesville died Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his home after a period of declining health. He was born Nov. 4, 1925 in Holmes County to the late Jacob and Katie (Wengerd) Hershberger and married Katie D. Weaver on Jan. 27, 1949. She preceded him in death on Dec. 18, 2015. He was a member of the Old Order Amish and he was ordained a Deacon on April 29, 1979. Surviving are a son, Robert and Iva Hershberger of Dundee, a daughter, Martha and Robert Troyer of the home; 11 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie, his parents, an infant son, a great-grandson, brothers Eli, Atlee and Dan and a sister, Edna Miller. Services will be held Wednesday, April 24th at 9:00 a.m. at the residence will minister Levi G . Weaver officiating. Burial will be be in the Hershberger Cemetery, Prairie Township, Holmesville Friends may call anytime after 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
