Elsie P. King, 89, of Ypsilanti, MI, died peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Cedar Woods Care Center in Belleville, MI after a period of declining health.
Elsie was born Jan. 3, 1929 in Doylestown to the late Edward E. and Edith M. (Deneke) Schondel and married Hebert E. King on Sept. 17, 1949. Herb preceded her in death on July 30, 2005. They had made their home in Wooster, Florida and in Monroe and Willis, MI. Elsie retired from La-Z-Boy Furniture and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Boston, MI.
Surviving are her children, Dennis (Cheri) King of Ypsilanti, MI and Anne (David) Thompson of Oak Harbor, WA; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Dobbins and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 5 infant children; brothers, Harold, Dale, Charles, Richard and Sam and sisters, Virginia, Edith and Viola.
Services will be Saturday, May 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Doylestown. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
