Eliza Jane Hanshaw

Eliza Jane Hanshaw, 71, of Akron, suddenly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Eliza was born on Sept. 14, 1953 in Braxton Co., WV to Robert E. and Ruth (Tanner) Lyons.  She had worked as a home caregiver and was a member of Grace Cathedral in Akron.  Eliza loved her dogs Lucy, Coopie, Leroy and Daisy and she loved Gospel and Blue Grass Music.

Surviving are her sons, Travis and his wife Stephanie “Baby Girl” Hanshaw of Norton and Howard “Triple H” Hanshaw of Ovapa, WV; her grandson, Travis Charles “My Little Indian Boy"; her companion of 30 years, Ron Golden; and sisters, Betty and her husband Wayne Dallachiesa of Creston and Janet Counts of Akron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rosalee Metheney, brothers Virgil, Frank and David Lyons and brothers-in-law, David Metheney, Ronzel Tanner and Howard Counts

Services will be Saturday, June 21st at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Chris Machamer officiating.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.
