Eli J. Miller, 82, of 8697 S. Apple Creek Rd., Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 at his home after a period of declining health.
He was born On Feb. 3, 1936 in Wayne County to John J. and Lydia (Shetler) Miller. He married Lydia W. Hostetler on Dec. 8, 1960 and she survives. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church where he was ordained a minister in 1989.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia; children and their spouses, Verna and John Yoder of Loudonville, William (deceased) and Elizabeth Miller of Adamsville, Joni and Amanda Miller of New Concord, Johnny and Barbara Miller of Fredericksburg, Eli Jr. and Verna Miller of Munfordville, KY, Barbara and Eli Hostetler of Holmesville, Edna and Jerome Byler of Sandy Lake, PA, Reuben and Barbara Miller of the home, Rachel and Andrew Hostetler of Utica and Andrew and Amanda Miller of Fredericksburg; 68 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Dan (Katie) Miller of Apple Creek, Uriah (Fannie) Miller of Wooster, Johnny Jr. (Mary) Miller of Holmesville, Joni (Emma Sue) Miller of Danville and William (Ella) Miller of Holmesville; sisters, Mary (Toby) Hostetler of Danville, Susie (Andrew) Miller of Loudonville, Emma (Sam) Hostetler of Fredericksburg and Katherine Hochstetler of Danville and a brother-in-law, William Y. Hostetler of Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, William; a sister, Elizabeth Hostetler and a brother-in-law, Edward Hochstetler.
Funeral services will be Saturday Feb. 10that 9:00 a.m. at 8595 S. Apple Creek Rd., Fredericksburg with Bishop Atlee E. Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in Troyer Cemetery, Wayne County. Friends may call anytime at the residence. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
