Eli A. Hochstetler

Millersburg

Eli A. Hochstetler, 83, of Millersburg and formerly of Holmesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Majora Lane Care Center in Millersburg after a period of declining health.

Eli was born May 14, 1937 in Mount Eaton to the late Atlee and Emma (Yoder) Hochstetler.  On Dec. 12, 1970 he married Charlotte Porter and she preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2004.  Eli was a retired farmer and long distance truck driver and always loved animals, especially his mules and his dogs.

Surviving are his daughter, June Hearn of Wooster; brothers, Dan Hochstetler of Fredericksburg, Emanuel and Nettie Hochstetler of Holmesville and Roy and Amanda Hochstetler of Mount Eaton; sisters, Anna Kurtz and Mary and Lester Miller of Millersburg, Betty Wengerd and Ida and Will Detweiler of Fredericksburg, sister-in-law, Katie Hochstetler of Fredericksburg, step-sister, Fannie and Dan Miller of Kidron and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, step-father, John E. Troyer, brother, Raymond Hochstetler, brothers-in-law, Crist Kurtz and Alvin Wengerd, sister-in-law, Ruby Hochstetler and step-brothers and step-sisters, Robert, Levi, Effie, Lizzie and Mary.

Services will be Monday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Roy Keim officiating.  Burial will be in Tyndall Cemetery in Coshocton County.  Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family extends a special thanks to the staff of Majora Lane Center and LifeCare Hospice for the wonderful care given to Eli.
