Edwin Lee Mellott

Edwin Lee Mellott, 84, of Creston, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024 after a brief illness.

Ed was born on Feb. 27, 1940 in Canaan to the late Leroy and Eleanor (Miller) Mellott and was a 1958 graduate of Norwayne High School.  On June 28, 1958 he married Patricia Ann Eshler and they shared 66 wonderful years together.  He had been a “Milk Man” at Smith Dairy for 15 ½ years and had worked at the former Canaan Market.  For many years Ed was self-employed in the construction business having built numerous homes in the area.  Ed was always a hard worker who loved to golf and travel.  He and Ann spent many winter months in Florida over the years, but Canaan was always home.

Surviving is his wife, Ann; daughter, Tammy Mellott of Creston; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Rachelle Mellott of Creston; grandchildren, Denise and her husband Russ Tratchel, Matt Mellott and John Schmel; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Derek, Reed, Cole, Cassie, Haily, Lexi and Paitton; great great-grandchildren, Kaylem and Mirrsen; an adopted grandson, Garrett Smith and family; a sister, Ada Zappone of St. Cloud, FL and nieces and nephews.

It was Ed’s request that there be no services.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canaan Center Church of God, 2326 E. Easton Rd., Creston, OH 44217.
