Duane L. Baker

Duane L. Baker, 88, of Seville, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, after a period of declining heath.

Duane was born on June 13, 1937, in Seville to Henry J. and Una May (Parks) Baker and was a graduate of Seville High School. On Nov. 24, 1955, he married Alta “Acey” Eyster and she preceded him in death on Oct. 30, 2017. Duane retired from Overnite Transport in 1999 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rittman. He enjoyed serving and helping others and he enjoyed constructing HO trucks and vehicles.

Surviving are his children, Sue and her husband Kris Weir of Lodi, Jeffery Baker of Mansfield and Charles and his wife Diane Baker of Canton; grandchildren, Matthew Baker, Melanie Smith, Ashley Summers and Ryan Weir; 6 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Acey, granddaughter, Amanda, his parents and brothers and sisters, Harold “Sonny” Baker, Martha Edwards, Lois Baker, Carl Baker, Eugene Baker and Carol Jarvis.

There will be a celebration of Duane’s life to be announced later.
