Dottie Marie Wertz, 88, of Wooster, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at the Avenue at Wooster after a brief illness.
Dottie was born on Nov. 18, 1935 in Whites Creek, WV to Charles and Ruth (Fowler) Goody and graduated from Sterling High School in 1953. On Feb. 7, 1953 she married Roger Wertz and he preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2010. She later married Edward Lautenschlager on Oct. 12, 2012 who preceded her in death on May 9, 2018. Dottie retired from Rubbermaid, Inc. after 28 ½ years and was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Marshallville. She enjoyed quilting and needlework, watching the Cavs, fishing and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children and their spouse, Vicky and Juan Williams and Christopher and Glenda Wertz; granddaughter, Sabrina Wertz; step-grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Williams; great-granddaughter, Alana Marie and step great-granddaughters, April, Helen, JoAnne and Jessica; nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Shari Pack.
She was preceded by her husbands, a grandson, Cain Wertz, sister, Maxine Winchell and brothers, Charles and Clyde Goody.
Services will be Friday, March 8th, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7404 Coal Bank Rd., Marshallville, OH with Pastor Ann Cammarn officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the church on Friday. Donations may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7404 Coal Bank Rd., Marshallville, OH 44645. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
