Dorothy Marceline Dravenstott

Dorothy Marceline Dravenstott, 69, of West Salem, died peacefully at her home early Wednesday morning, Dec. 21, 2016 surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Dorothy was born May 17, 1947 in Wadsworth to the late Merle and Marceline (Dunn) Gray and was a 1965 graduate of Norwayne High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and active in school activities. On Oct. 22, 1966 she married Harold Dravenstott who survives and she retired from Akron Brass in 2002 having worked in accounting and sales. She also managed her several rental properties which she enjoyed. Dorothy attended Aukerman Church of God and was always generous with her time in serving other people and had been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for a number of years. Dorothy enjoyed traveling with family and friends, reading and playing scrabble with her mother, children and grandchildren. She is also remembered as a friendly out going person who generally treated everyone she met with the respect of a friend. She is remembered for taking in any stray animal and will be greatly missed. Surviving are her husband, Harold; daughter Charity (Scott) Rauschenberg of Findlay; son, Harold (Dana) Dravenstott, Jr. of Medina; grandchildren, Erin and Megan Rauschenberg and Alan and Samantha Dravenstott; brothers and sisters, Robert (Lucy) Gray of Burbank, William (Sharon) Gray of Philippi, WV, Kenneth (Nora) Gray of Norwich, Barbara (Greg) Corp of Creston and Deborah Davis of Sterling and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service for the family will be held Friday, Dec. 23rd at 3:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Kenneth Thomas officiating.
