Doris Ann Sheipline, 79, of Sterling, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare after a period of declining health.
Doris was born in St. Marys, Ohio on March 14, 1945 to Bernard and Florence (Fischer) Fortman and graduate from Memorial High School in St. Marys in 1963. Doris worked for several Ford dealerships for over 20 years including Maibach Ford where she retired from in 2010. She was an avid golfer having golfed on leagues at Hawks Nest, Wooster College and Mohican and in multiple charitable golf outings. Doris also loved football and was a big Ohio State Fan.
Surviving are her two children, Denise (Emory Collins) McCanna of Smithville and Danny (Traci) Sheipline of Burbank; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jenna (Tyler) Buss and their children Hadley and Carson, Taylor McCanna and her daughter Alaina, Bryan (McKayla) McCanna and their children, Amelia and Jacen and Megan Sheipline; brothers, Richard Fortman of Minister, OH, Larry Fortman of North Carolina and Bob (Linda) Fortman of Texas; sister-in-law, Jeanette Fortman of Northfield; nieces and nephews and her best little friend, Coco.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Fortman and sisters-in-law, Mary Fortman and Joan Fortman.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Chaplain Daron Butler officiating. Burial will be in the Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster OH 44691.
