Doris Elaine (Gingrich) Beichler

Doris Elaine Beichler, 92, of Creston, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Wayne County Care Center.

Doris was born in Johnstown, PA on Jan. 20, 1931 to Rev. Joseph L. and Beatrice (Smith) Gingrich and graduated from East Conemaugh High School.  On Nov. 6, 1954 she married Jim Beichler and he preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 2007.  Doris retired from Westfield Companies with over 30 years of service and had made her home in  the Creston area for many years.  She was a faithful member of Grace Brethren Church in Rittman where she played the organ, sang in the choir and was active in Women of Grace.  Doris enjoyed traveling and always enjoyed meeting people wherever she traveled.

Surviving are her daughter, Karen Thomas of Minnesota; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Judy Beichler of Wooster; granddaughter, Jennifer and Alicia; grandson, Chris Dennis; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Paul Beichler and David Beichler; sisters-in-law, Teiko Beichler and Donna Beichler and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; brothers, Paul and Hugo Gingrich and sisters, Gladys Rowser and Miriam Gingrich.

Services will be Friday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Brethren Church in Rittman with Pastors Bud Olszewski and Clark Genet officiating.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 44 S. First St., Rittman, OH 44270.
