With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Jean Boggs, March 11, 2025, at the age of 86.
Doris and Marvin were married on October 28, 1956, at her parents’ home in Frametown, West Virginia. If you were to ask Marvin how it felt to be married for 68 years, he would say, "Not long enough." A proud graduate of Gassaway High School, Doris devoted much of her life to serving others, especially children. She never missed an opportunity to mentor, guide, and support young hearts and minds. From leading the junior and bumper bowling program to serving as a Girl Scout leader and Boy Scout den mother, Doris poured her energy into shaping the lives of those around her. Doris never met a stranger—her warmth and kindness turned acquaintances into lifelong friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Marvin, their children, Kim (Rick) Rice of Creston, Carma (Mike) Kollert of Sterling, Mike Boggs of Columbus, Barbara Boggs of Spencer, and Kyle (Heather) Boggs of Shelby, NC.
