Donny E. Schmucker

Donny E. Schmucker, 60, of Wooster, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026, with his family at his side at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare in Wooster. 

Donny was born on Jan. 6, 1966, in Wooster to Eli Ezra and Mary A. (Hershberger) Schmucker. He graduated from Northwestern High School and the Wayne County Schools Career Center in 1985 and worked for Cedar Lane Farms for 26 years. For the past 13 years, he worked for the Medina County Commissioners in building maintenance having retired in August. 2026. Donny was a man who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and working outdoors. He was a tinkerer and a true “Mr. FIx-It” and a man who loved spending time with his grandkids and his little dog, Casper. On July 11, 2014 Donny married Katherine L. “Kathy” Anderson and she survives in addition to daughters, Crystal Schmucker, Rachel (LaRon) Miller and Rebecca Walker; son, Jonathon Hamilton; grandchildren, Connor and Carter Westfall, Evelynn, Aria and Milo Miller and Kinsley Hamilton; his mother, Mary Miller and sisters, Dorothy (Dave) Sorrells and Shauronna (Phillips) Burkhart. 

Donny was preceded in death his daughter, Jessica Lynn Schmucker, his father Eli, his step-father, Jim Miller, brother, Eli Ezra, ll and infant brother, Samuel Lee.

Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
