Donna Leone (Batley) Nussbaum

Donna Leone Nussbaum, 90 of Wooster, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Smithville-Western Care Center.

Donna was born on May 9, 1933 in Wadsworth to William and Georgia (Feesler) Batley and married Roy D. Nussbaum of Apple Creek on June 22, 1951.  She graduated from Seville High School.  Donna had worked in the Wooster Edgewood Jr. High School cafeteria and in 1977 moved to Cincinnati where she worked in the Glen Este High School cafeteria until her retirement.  Roy and Donna moved back to Wooster in 2009.  She loved her time with family and they all gathered the last time, last May for her 90th birthday party.  She and her husband enjoyed dancing, taking cruises and baseball.  They spent many years as season ticket holders for the Cincinnati Reds.

Surviving are her children, Patricia Dougan of Montgomery, TX, Ronald (Renee) Nussbaum of Butler, OH, Janice (Greg) Carnahan of Montgomery, TX, Debbie (Dave) Evans of Orrville, OH and Daniel (Sheryl) Nussbaum of Croton, OH; 10 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Dodez.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy; and infant grandchild, Kevin Evans; a son-in-law, Dick Dougan; a sister Dorothy Ramsier and a brother, Ken Batley.

Per Donna’s request, she was buried in a private ceremony at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
