Donald K. Smith, 50, of Wooster died unexpected at his home on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016.
He was born May 24, 1966 in Wooster to Arthur “Art” and Beverly (Hostetler) Smith and attended Triway High School where he played football. He had worked at Crown North America in Wooster and for the family landscaping business, Hillcrest Trucking. Don was lead vocal for the band Mud Eye and enjoyed going to the beach in Florida and cooking. He was known for his famous lasagna that people would hire him to make. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his parents, Art and Beverly Smith; his son Logan Smith; his daughter, Chelsea Smith and their mother and his friend Michelle Sampson; grandsons, Konnor, Kaden and Kameron Smith; brothers, Lonnie (Sherry) Smith and Scott Smith and nephews Matt and Nick Smith all of Wooster. Also surviving are an uncle, Ben Hostetler and a dear friend Penny Seigel and many cousins.
Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Jack McClelland officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691 in his memory and in honor of the care given to his late grandmother, Flossie Mihalo, aunt, Winnie Weaver and uncle, Charles Hostetler.
