Donald Edwin Ballard

Donald Edwin Ballard, 71, of Burbank, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Donald was born on October 8, 1954, in Akron, OH to Julian and Katherine (Klophenstein) Ballard and was a 1972 graduate from Norton High School. Don attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina and then to Tri-C College to become a physicians assistant. On August 7, 1976 Donald married Nancy Sweezy and they shared 49 wonderful years together. Donald had worked at Ashland Samaritan Hospital and retired in 2016 after 25 years. When he wasn’t working Donald enjoyed the outdoors, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Seth (Alden) Ballard of Wyoming, Sara (Gregory) Portis of Norton, and Benjamin Ballard of Burbank; grandchildren, Jordan and Andrew; brothers, Robert (Holly) Ballard of Norton and Carl Ballard of Westerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

At Donald’s request there will be no services.
