Diane Rae (Tanner) Wiles

March 16, 1942 — July 31, 2024

Wooster

Diane Rae (Tanner) Wiles, was born March 16, 1942 in Lodi, Ohio. She passed away peacefully in her home on July 31, 2024 with her loving husband by her side. Dan & Diane were married on January 7, 1961 in Monroe, MI and lived in Wayne County, OH their entire lives.

Many of you will remember Diane for her quick wit & spunky character, which she maintained through the very end. You always knew where you stood with Diane. She had an amazing love for animals and had been known to save the lives of many dogs, cats, birds, butterflies, mice, raccoons, and more. Her flowerbeds were a sight to behold. She was an incredible seamstress.  In Burbank, she was a Mom to many. There was always plenty of food on the table & fun to be had. She held a real estate license, and juggled the duties along with raising so many kids... not just her own! She was a very giving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, Aunt, & Friend. We hope that when you think of Diane, you recall a special moment with her which brings a smile to your face.

She is survived by her husband, R. Daniel Wiles, her children, Dan (Butch) & Joy Wiles, Lisa Rupp & Darius Metheney, Bob & Connie Wiles, Jen Wiles & Chris Hall, & Jeff & Jenn Wiles, her foster son, Reggie O’Neal, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, her faithful companion, Buddy, a sister, Kathy (Tanner) & LeRoy Schneider, a sister-in-law, Shauna Tanner, several nieces and nephews, and her blessing of a caregiver, Lydia.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Bob and Ruth Tanner, her brother, Bob Tanner II, and a son in law, Jeff Rupp.

The Wiles family would like to thank the many friends, family, and volunteers who have helped with Diane’s day-to-day care over the past several years. It was truly a gift and a blessing to be able to keep her at home with her loved ones by her side.

A private family service will be held to honor Diane’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, OH 44691.
