Dennis Eugene Blacklock, Sr., 77, of Creston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
Denny was born on March 2, 1948, in Akron to Robert and Susan (Yates) Blacklock and was a 1967 graduate of Kenmore High School. He enlisted shortly after in the U.S. Air Force on Aug. 31, 1967, and honorably served until Aug. 31, 1971. Denny received his associate’s degree from West Virginia Tech and was an Engineering Technician at the Hoover Co. in North Canton. He had lived most of his life in Akron until moving to Creston eight years ago to be with the love of his life, Marsha Williams Reber. They were married on Feb. 24, 2023. Denny loved the Lord and was a member of Creston Community Church and was a member of Creston Moose Lodge 1224. He enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing and genealogy as well as airplanes.
Surviving is his wife, Marsha; children, Dennis Jr., Angela, Michael and Amber; stepdaughter, Tamara; sister, Anna Uplinger; a half-brother Albert and his wife Darla Hershey and several grandchildren and 9 beloved nieces and nephews.
Denny was preceded in death by his father, Robert, his mother, Susan Hershey, brothers, James and Robert Jr and a niece, Paula.
Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Josh Chaffin officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until time of services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr., Suite E., Uniontown, OH 44685.
